Makeup Storage 09/30/2009
 
Hey guys. This is just a quick one about my makeup storage. I found my newest storage cart at Target for $13.99..an awesome deal, I think! Before I was using two of the smaller 8 1/2 x 11 three drawer ones, which worked OK but it took up too much space on my desk. I really love my new cart since I can roll it out of the way when I'm not using it..an awesome plus for people who don't have much space, like me. I found the black dividers at Walmart, though an awesome commenter let me know that she found some at the .99 cent store! The silver pen holder in the bottom drawer was actually from Walmart, though for some reason I said Office Max. I'm sure you could find it just about anywhere, though.

Lets break down the approximate cost for everything :
Storage cart : $14
Silver pen holder : $6
Four black dividers $4
= $24!

Much better than buying a huge train case if you don't cart your makeup around with you!

I hope you guys enjoy this, I know I love seeing how other people store their makeup because it always inspires me to switch everything up once in a while! I'm sorry it's such a mess, I don't think I have it quite like I want it just yet..but you'll get a general idea of how much room is in this little sucker!

Hey guys! As some of you might know, Beauty from the Earth has been having Twitter contests every night. I was lucky enough to win all three prizes last Friday and I just got my package. The prize for that day was three shadows per question, so I got nine!

As you may know, Calypso Minerals has sadly become an untrusted company. This post is from September of 2009, where I completely encouraged ordering these shadows, as they really are amazing. I could have never possibly known what would happen to some of you guys, several of you out large sums of money. I have received more than one comment telling me how wrong and unfair it is to still support this company by leaving this post up, but I will not be taking it down as you can no longer buy the products anyway. I may recommend something, but it is based on my personal taste and experiences with something. It is up to you to make the decision to purchase something, and you are always buying at your own risk. Any comments regarding this will be deleted promptly.

The last I have heard, Jen is working on refunding people or sending their products to right the situation.
Hey guys! This is my very first package from Calypso Minerals, and I can not even begin to tell you how excited I was to try these. After watching vintageortacky open her package and seeing her first reaction, I knew these shadows were not going to disappoint. I placed my order a couple of weeks ago, and since Jen was so backed up she was kind enough to include some extras! To say I was floored when I started swatching these isn't good enough..I can't believe the quality at such a great price.

L-R : Copper Cauldron, Wizard's Wand, Rant, Peacock, Karma, Grape and Blueberry
These were all swatched over my NYX jumbo pencil in Milk.

Hey guys! I just got a package from Beauty from the Earth, and I could NOT wait to swatch these! Let me start by saying that everything was packaged very nicely, the six pots were in a ziplock baggie and then wrapped in tissue paper, and then Blueberry was a sample baggie stapled to a business card.

For those of you who follow BFTECosmetics on Twitter, you'll know that they had a contest to name their Fall 2009 collection not too long ago. They picked two of my names, so I won six colors! The two that were picked were Copper Cauldron and Wizard's Wand, and I can't even tell you guys how proud I am that they liked two of my names! Both of those colors are BEAUTIFUL, you guys really have to check out the fall collection when it comes out!

As for the shadows in general, they are very soft, pigmented and have the prettiest glow I've ever seen from mineral shadows without being a shimmer bomb. They're super affordable, so if you guys haven't tried them yet..I recommend them totally! Be sure to follow them on Twitter, you might end up naming something from their next collection!
